tuesday | 3:30 – 5pm | March 22nd – May 17th | Making Retablos | 2nd – 7th graders
We’ll explore the ancient cultural tradition of creating retablos or shrines to honor objects and things of personal veneration. We’ll make our own and consider what we care about most, what we are obsessed with, what we love about where we live, what we want to honor, preserve, collect… We’ll use wood, clay, and found objects to build & create our own 3-Dimensional, personal retablos!
*Please note that in these mixed-age workshops, participants are divided into different groups, based on age/grade, each working at their own pace.
All workshops take place in my outdoor garage-studio space in the College Hill neighborhood of Maplewood, New Jersey.
