Summer Workshops

9:00 - 12:00 Workshops | Register for one week at a time. $345 per week (July 6-9, $275), materials fee included.

For rising 1st - rising 6th graders | 10 kids max – minimum of 6 to run

Each day consists of: Morning Circle, Warm Up Activity, Creating Session 1 , Snack break, Creating Session 2, Snack break, Open-Studio, Closing Circle
(please send your artists with plenty of snacks, water and sun screen)

MAKING TINY BOOKS

What else is there to say? It’s just so much fun. Making tiny books and Artist Books using upcycled materials and copies of personalized materials you bring with you like letters, favorite drawings, photographs... Build your own Tiny Book Library!!

WEEK 1
June 28 – July 2, $345

BUILDING MINIATURE TREE HOUSES

We’ll look at the work of some architects, who have built really amazing tree houses, create our own designs and build our own miniature treehouses using wood, glue, basic hand tools, and an assortment of other materials!

WEEK 2
July 6 – July 9, $275

EXPLORING CLAY & 3D

Working with air dry clay, we'll explore beadmaking, fantastical creatures, self-portraiture, imitating “nature” and building with armatures.

WEEK 3
July 12 – July 16, $345

EXPLORING BALANCE & MOVEMENT  

Using a range of found objects and other materials, we’ll experiment with making Mobiles, Stabiles, and  Miniature Circus elements inspired by Alexander Calder!

July 19 – 23, $345

WEEK 5
July 26 – 30, $345

PRINTMAKING & SOCIAL JUSTICE 

We’ll look at the work of artists, who are also activists.  How do they express their concerns for the world around them through their artwork?  What are YOUR concerns about the world around you?

We’ll explore the ways you can make art about your own concerns through making collagraphs, mono prints, and screen prints.  By the end of the session, each artist will design and print their own T-shirt about what they care about most!
